Hesitation when starting after sitting

GasHog369

Question

So the last month or 2 i have a slight Hesitation when my truck starts after sitting for 10 + hours.. It starts right away but slowly brings the RPMS up. Whenever ive had an issue like this in the past with my old 06 silverado, I would put some fuel injector cleaner in there and it would clear it up.

In the owners manual they say not to use any additives with a flex fuel engine. When i first bought this 4 years ago i experimented with E85, didnt like it and have been running 89 Ethanol free for about 2.5 years.

Since I am not using E85 can i put some lucas or seafoam in there to try nd clean it up or is there a different product out there that is more recommended?

Also any other ideas on what this could be other than a dirty injector?

I just got a Synthetic oil change yesterday so i know thats clean.

Update...

Took the intake tube off the throttle body today and cleaned it out real good with throttle body cleaner. Also washed and oiled the K&N filter. Both were filthy. Started it up after it was sitting for about 8 hours and it sounded a lot better.

Still want to run some sort of injector cleaner thru it if possible.

I was gonna say it could be a low fuel pressure issue, but looks like you've got it straightened out there. Maybe blast out the MAF with cleaner too while you're in there.

I hear there's a special cleaner for it. MAF cleaner in a can. I just use acetone in a Sure-Shot.

I ended up getting a can of CRC 1 tank renew. Injector cleaner all in one fix for HP and mileage.

I put it in right away and will continue to drive and post my results.
