A/C recirculation mode on 2003 Sierra

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 Sierra ext. cab with the dual zone manual A/C (RPO-CJ3) option.

I have just recently attempted to use the recirculation mode on the A/C and don't recall from last year how it is supposed to react. Currently when I activate it, the light in the button lights up, but that's the only difference in operation I see. There is no audible blower or air sound changes, and I hear no flapper door movement of any kind. It doesn't matter what speed I have the blower set on either.

I currently have an intermittent problem with the blower not always working on setting 5 (high). I'm aware this is probably a problem with the blower resistor pack and/or it's connector/connection that these model trucks experience, just haven't dug into this yet. However, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the recirculation mode or not. I don't think that it does, any comments?

Can someone enlighten me as to what should happen when the recirculation mode is operating correctly. Things such as flapper door movement, blower speed changes, any audible changes, etc. Thanks.
