Clicking/tapping noise at drivers sidea a pillar body mount.

Recommended Posts

I am getting a rather annoying clicking/tapping sound at the drivers side footboard by the a pillar where the body mount is. 3 months after I got the 2015 yukon I took it to the dealer they said they couldn't hear it and in their defence it only happens in the early morning an it didn't make the sound for them. Anyhow I loosened and tightened the mount and it went away for about 8 months but all the sudden we get some weather and is starts again. Tried to retighten it without luck. Any suggestions? Has anyone seen this issue before? It almost sounds like a did clicker at times.

It's the black appliques that are the sides they are chattering. There is a tsb document the dealer can find about it, they weren't fastened at enough points and cold and hot expansion causes them to bend and wind hits them as we drive and they clang against the side pillar of the body of the truck. This happen to my 2010 and my 2015 and they replace them and affix them with stronger adhesive but it could happen again if the cold warps them.

It;s the black panels on the upper doors. I had it three times, there is a a TSB or it's known by GM. My service manager said they couldn't keep them in stock it was so common. My last visit he said GM now wants them glued in because it keeps reoccurring. They glued mine on the second one and no issues. They rattle or click on the clips and bulge out.
