New the to forum and wanted to share a few pics to see what you think. Got a pic of the truck with and without the z71 fender badges...which one do you think looks better? I had the bow ties painted to match can't decide on the z71 fender badges. Also looking at possible leveling or full lift just cant decide there either.

It could look good if you go for completely blacked out look. Would mean doing the other shiny bits and possibly different wheels. I would black out the Z71 before removing them as that just seems a downright shame.

I highly recommend spray on dip / rubber coat for badges and saying that I have been painting for years. It is great stuff and perfect for such an application. It will not harm anything and is literally designed as a protective coating, it just happens to also have all sorts of crazy color properties. Painting a badge requires removing it realigning it and a PITA, spray on rubber you do in place in 2 hrs start to finish all at once. Plus if you dont like it just peel it off. May not last forever but is durable enough mine hold up through gravel, dirt, beaches and mud and many washings. I did my Z71 sierra badges and looks great against the silver vs stock chrome IMO (our 'Z' also has some paint on it just darkish gray/metallic and not red).

For a level I would say check out the Blistien Shocks thread which is stickied here as that is probably best level method. Though many are available including simple spacer/block kits. I personally would not level a truck as it is meant to carry a payload but to each his own. If you look at many of my pics including avatar and signature it looks "level'ish" because I have ~40lbs of bedliner, plus 250+ of canopy , plus a custom over the wheel well wooden bedframe and mattress and 'gear' and a 100lbs GSD I typically haul around. Try putting a fat chick in the back and see how level yours gets. It is not that the truck is 'unlevel' it is that the rear suspension is completely relaxed if the bed is empty. I may not get the best MPG but the truck rides 'as it was truly meant to'.

With a lift well there is only one piece of advice I can say which is whatever you think you are willing to spend plan on doubling that at least and saving some. You do not want to cheap out on a good and true lift. Go with coil overs and add a leaf, it will be pricy but the more parts you get and less spacers the better. You can lift a truck purely for looks or you can lift a truck for function, your call.

I prefer, "WITH" But then again, that is what I have on my truck. It is ultimately your decision and what you think looks best.

I tried the large emblems where the rear sticker was. Didn't like it. I just found some black Z and charcoal 71 stickers to replace the originals. I hope I like it or there coming off and I'm leaving it that way.

To the OP, check out the black and chrome versions of the large door emblems. I bet they would look good on your doors. Might be a nice compromise

What I ended up doing was removed the original z71 stickers from the back and the Texas edition from the doors and ordered the door z71 badges. Once they came in I had grown to like it wo the badges. I went ahead and installed them but am not sure now. I think I'm going to keep them and may color match later with tungsten.

Definitely want to get some black wheels. Thanks for all the advice and replys!
