Hub assembly question, please help

Eamt055

Question

So I bought an 06 silverado crew cab that was a 4x4 but someone took all the 4 week drive components in front of the transfer case out. I need to replace my hubby assemblies on both sides.

My question is will the assembly for a 2 wheel drive work? I have the 4 week drive ones now and with no spline in the assembly it could be causing gunk to get in? So I was wondering if I could use the 2 wheel drive assemblies which are not open on the other side.

Thank you in advance.

I asked a ton of places and no one could tell me. I didn't want to order both so I decided to just used the 4 wheel drive hubs...thanks for the help though.

No problem - sorry I didn't have a more definitive answer for you.

I'm pretty sure the knuckle is totally different from 2wd to 4wd. Not sure if the bolt pattern is the same on either hub - can't remember.

Maybe you could ask an autoparts chain like NAPA or Advance to pull both so you can compare them? That would be the best way to know for sure.
