My GM Truck Collection

My 2011 CC Z71 4x4 will turn 50,000 miles tomorrow - the only thing that's been done to it has been oil changes and a new air filter. It's been rock-solid reliable and I've driven it through 23 states on multiple road trips. Well, I've been itching to get into a K2xx to get the newer technology (and the 6.2), but the Mrs. said "no way no how" am I selling that truck. I almost picked a 2016 Silverado midnight edition last month but as fate has it, and not wanting to have two pickups in the driveway, I lucked into a Yukon that I've been watching. So, I wanted to share my collection of GM Trucks.

Let me say that every time I drive my 2011, I'm reminded of the trips in my grandfathers' GM pickups as a young child. Long live the GM trucks.

18k on my 15.. Only one issue and my dealer took care of no questions asked..

My wife has a new Cherokee and her UConnect has been nothing but problems, 5x to the dealer and with crappy service and support...I always mess with her after a few beers and tell her she could have had the traverse...

I had a 1983 GMC S-15 High Sierra with the 3/4 ton package on it.

When I bought it, it had about 55,000 miles on it. When I sold it 14 years later, it had over 450,000 miles on it.

Of course over the years there were repairs on it, but I kept it going.

I really liked that truck.

1983.. 450k miles.

that is some kinda world record.

I like hanging on as well. I have not gotten out of the wimpy tails years yet.. welding away.

my first was a ford racked over 3 times, the stp engine treatment goo (anybody remember that stuff) acted as rings when it felt like it.

the second was 79 gm half ton, needed same frame repairs as my 96.

I made up my mind as well, not even sell the old 96.

The only manual tranny v8 I could find was already ten years old and asking 17000.

out of their mind.
