2015 3500 High Country Duramax P2436

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

Wondering if anyone has had the P2436 engine DTC and had the dealer decline to cover under warranty.

Truck had 7,900 miles. Cost me $189.

The message on my instrument cluster indicated for me to keep driving. Stopped to refuel. Started the truck and it was in reduced power mode.

I'd like to hear if others have had this issue, and what their result was.

Thanks.

Ryan

Plugged DPF. 100-150 mile regens. Trying to get GM to warranty it, just like they did with the faulty DEF unit earlier this year. We'll see. Full disclosure- I am the second owner of the truck, purchased it this year. First owner used it for towing trailers into and working at oil fields in Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and Oklahoma and South Dakota.

You might check in over at duramax forums they may be able to offer some more insight. I'm dealing with my own DPF and DEF nightmares right now.

He already did and got his money back plus a $500 voucher

Nope. The exhaust system has it's own warranty not covered by bumper to bumper or power train.

But if it's so new, wouldn't the exhaust systems warranty cover this? I may be confused but I thought it was 80k?
