'94 Sonoma 4.3 no start

Recommended Posts

My 1994 gmc sonoma cranks but wont start. It has good fuel pressure and good spark. it will run if gas is squirted into the intake but will die once i stop squirting gas. previous owner replaced a few sensors and the fuel pump, says that it died once but started up and was able to drive it home. Any one know what might be the issue?

i have the same year motor, a 94 4.3L, in my S-10. mine is TBI, i would pull the air filter off and watch the jets on the top of the intake. have someone crank the motor, and you should see gas dripping from those jets. if not, clean them and run sea foam or gum out in the tank. also replace the fuel filter.

My fuel pump went out gradually. It was hard to start a couple times and then it totally died. I have an older truck with a bed liner. I have an older truck so I just cut an access panel in the bed with a sawzall to get to the fuel pump. Was a piece of cake doing it like that. Try running some Lucas fuel additive through it, if it is anything with your injectors it will probably take care of that, it's good to use now and then anyway.
