Technical question - Speed up topic browsing

I'm a regular visitor/member to this forum and am finding that it is getting increasingly longer to switch between pages and topics. I have to wait for the advertisements to load each time I change to a new topic and turning to the next page is slow. I do not believe this is a computer problem as my other computer activities appear normal. Is there a simple adjustment or is this normal?

Install the plug-in AdBlock. It blocks all of those random ads. All pages load much quicker.

I have ad blocker plus and this site is still quite slow compared to other sites. Actually I don't think ad blocker actually speeds up the display of any page. I think the ads are still being delivered to the receiving computer, only the ad blocker recognizes them and converts them to blank space and re-renders the page.

I don't know why this site is slow but I'm guessing something on the host side.

I installed ad blocker c/w google chrome yesterday and it has made a huge difference. I can now click between threads and pages like switching channels on my television! No waiting. Maybe not instant but close enough!
