Rough country 3.5" lift kit

Recommended Posts

Just purchased my 2015 2500HD last march, and have decided to splurge a bit and purchased this Rough Country kit that they just released for the 2500's. http://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-1959c.html

What do y'all think of it? I've had a lot of buddies use stuff from RC and seem to love their stuff. Also looking for some advice on the install with this, is it plausible to do this on my own, or will I have to go somewhere? I've worked on cars and such, but never trucks so this's all pretty foreign to me... looking for any tips tricks or advice you might have with the install.... thanks guys!

Hhhmmm it appears you need to remove your overload springs to make it work, kinda ruins why one bought a HD for

I think that only refers to the 3500HD overload springs that are above the main spring pack, rather than the overload at the bottom of the pack.

the previous owner cranked the keys all the way up, im assuming i have to put them back to stock when i do this if I want it to ride normally at all... correct?

You can rent the key tool for free at auto zone they collect $200 but when you give it back you get your money. Don't use anything else, you will ruin your day and life. Really, you need to get the tool, the tension on these is huge. Align it after. I've had RC parts in the past, they are quality, the leveling keys on my truck are RC and the lift on my excursion is RC, it has 300k and 13 years of no issues.

Well, if you install this kit, you'll be removing the stock keys and bolts anyway.....so it won't be a problem. But yes, if you run this kit with the new keys cranked all the way up, you'll want to throw rocks at your truck on a daily basis, haha.

Does this kit account for having tow pkg? I believe the replacement "U" bolts have to be wider. That is something that you need to know if applicable. That is why I am going with this kit. It has more parts to keep everything factory correct. I will be opting for fox shocks all around as well. The tech guy at RL told me I could get almost 4" if i wanted, but I was going to keep it around 3". And I am keeping rake before you ask, because I tow a trailer..and i like the look as well.

i guess what i mean, is i need the measurement from the stock keys in order to adjust the new ones to the right level
