Transmission flush and idle drop

Recommended Posts

I have a 2013 GMC sierra hd SLT took it in to the dealer ship because while in idle it would lose power and once died out. They said it was because of the headers that was installed and that it needed a sensor to be changed so "ok do what you have to do to get it back up to par" next day I go to pick it up they tell me that I need a transmission flush and quoted me $500 dollars my truck has only 29,000 miles on it. And when I got home my truck started losing power again as if they didn't do anything to... so my question is why is my idle dropping and should I do a transmission flush with only 29,000 miles on my truck?

The price i pay to live in hawaii... I brought my truck home and decided to go under the hood myself after I typed this up. I ain't no mechanic but I do work in the refinery so I thought what's difference... lol. then boom I found the problem and fixed it whit just a screw driver. It was the intake tube, it was disconnected from the air filter!!! Now my truck is running perfect

say hello to my little friend "ripoff"... the transmission fluid isn't going to make your engine run poorly, $500 for a transmission flush is ridiculous.

The ZF 8 speed autos that Dodge uses are more than that. The fluid is $43/Litre and the filter is part of the pan. Kiss $1,000 goodbye...

Phone up the dealership and talk to the manager and complain about it. You were totally ripped off. And complain to the BBB if the manager does nothing.
