Plasti-dipped the honeycomb on my LT (before & after pics)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I plasti-dipped the honeycomb section of my 2014 LT's grille. See the before and after pics. This was my first attempt at plasti-dipping.....overall it went pretty well, I think. I got a bubble in one place, and a bit of hanging plastic in another. Once it's had a chance to fully dry I'll try to touch it up.

Thoughts and comments welcome!

Thanks man, I like yours as well! White with the black grille looks really good.

Looks good! How did you guys do it - mask off the area and spray w/ plasti-dip, or did you remove the mesh?

Thanks! I removed my grille. I know some people have protected the radiator by sticking cardboard inside.....I didn't really see how to do that so I took it off. This also allowed me to spray it from both front and back. Removing the grille was actually really easy, aside from the bolts under the headlights being really difficult to reach. Took me a while to figure out how to reach them, but once I did it wasn't too hard.

I think I liked the chrome better but that is just me. Looks like a good job.

I am curious though did you plasti-dip 360 degrees like the back too since you removed it? Thinking that would be a good idea back first then front as it would hold better and create a shell. When I talked to the guy to line-x my fender flares he said it does the back too even though not seen as it provides a better 'shell' over all. Thinking this would apply to DIP too.

Sorry to drift off-topic, but I love the light bar in your bumper. Did you do it yourself, or buy it that way?
