whats that do? focus the sound into the cabin instead of leaking between the door panels.

 

Yes Exactly. as you can see in the pictures the factory speakers has this.. it makes a seal of sorts from the speaker to the door skin. so most/all the sound goes out the door instead of behind the door skin.

Deadener aka cld should have 25% coverage on the doors and back wall.  Closed cell foam should be 100% coverage over that on the doors and back wall

 

(Doors and back wall need this regardless but anymore is up to you. Doors and back wall is just a minimum)
