Brakes locking up while turning

Aisbilljr0001

Question

Hello. Over the weekend I replaced my brake pads, rotors, calipers and brake hoses all on the front (drums in the back) of my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500. I noticed when I drove it that when I would turn the wheel and brake at the same time the brakes would do what feels like locking up. The hoses aren't getting pinched or restricted I checked that first thing. I just can't seem to tell what the issue is. They work perfectly fine when I brake going straight or brake at high speeds while turning. Just when I brake at about 10mph while turning is when they start acting up. Anybody have any ideas? I read that it could be the wheel bearings but I just replaced ball joints and checked everything to make sure my front end was in line. So I'm fairly sure it's not my wheel bearings.

Just throwing ideas to the wind here ...

There's a possibility of rust being stuck to the wheel sensors for the ABS, or a pinched wire, resulting in erratic readings, which may be activating the ABS during slow speed stops.

Another thing to check is tension on the brake hoses - if the caliper was spun around the wrong way before bolting it up, it can twist and kink the hose on sharp turns.

Turns out when I was changing the ball joints I kept wiping big globs of grease on my lower control arm and when I took the abs sensor out it swung down into that big glob of grease and I didn't see it on there when I put the sensor back in. Sensor is covered in grease causing the abs to kick in. Thank you for helping me to solve my problem, jsdirt!
