High RPM's while towing.

I love hearing it wind and will hit the 5700rpms right before the limiter I've turned mine 6200 with my programmer at truck pulls and it's the only truck that will take a shit under that much load I love my gms haha

This is my first big truck. 2016 2500HD, 6.0. Always had mid size trucks. I tow a 9500# 5th wheel. My question is, while towing up hills, the rpms get above 5000, sometimes around 5500. The engine sounds like is about to explode. Is this normal?
