2016 Silverado - Stormtrooper

Well to start, I'm a lifelong GM guy. Dates back to my dad driving Chevy trucks and running Chevy motors in his late models.

My first vehicle was a 1991 454 SS, that was fun. Then went on to a Syclone (even more fun, wish I still had that truck), then a 1996 1500 extended cab, then a 2005 Duramax (wish I had this one too), a 2012 Duramax, a 2015 Sierra 1500 and now a 2016 Silverado 1500.

The 2015 Sierra was the wrong truck for me. I didn't want black and didn't really want another lifted truck, but the bonus tags last year were so good that I bought it just because of price. I did put 30k miles on it, and when this truck popped up I knew it was right. It was white, with the color match and black badging and it had the 22" black rims, which I love.

It's only an LT, but I'm honestly loving the change back to cloth after having leather for 15+ years. The only thing I didn't get in this truck that I wanted, was the 6.2L. But, I figure if I keep the truck and like it I'll throw a S/C on it later. For now, just some mild mods to appearance and performance. Super happy so far, just filled up for the first time and averaged 19.8 mpg.

I HAD to do a CAI. Some pics are below. I went with K&N, the Blackhawk series. It looks really sharp IMO. I know people are split on it, but I like the look/sound and feel that I will get minor HP gains and hopefully a bit better fuel economy. I have to say it does sound ALOT better over 3,000 RPM's. If you are under that range, you can't tell the difference. Other things to do right away are muffler delete, remove rear blocks, plasti-dip the "Silverado" lettering and remove the front license plate holder.

nice! I really like the white plastidipped badges, that looks pretty good - looks like it matches the paint pretty well

Thanks! I'm glad I didn't take them off, makes the truck look a bit cleaner but still breaks up some of the open space. Long term I will probably get them painted and put back on. Right now this is a "good from far, far from good" type of setup. The color matches fairly well.

makes sense - I have black painted badges on but am now considering trying some white painted badges after seeing this ( if I can the white to match well)...

I too love the gloss black 22" factory wheels. Nice truck!

Truck looks really good I found something to put on the "to do list"color match GM bow tie splash guards should run you around 200.00 if you can install them. The added protection and the color match detail would be awesome.BTW cool name for the truck.

I keep plugging away with little things.

Shorty antenna

Partially debadged with other letters on white out

Small carbon interior pieces

Rear blocks removed and now on lowering shackles

BedTred liner

Undercover Tonneau cover - hate it, want a foldable cover

Front license plate bracket removed

Lower front chrome air dam plasti dipped black

Next up is a front window tint and muffler delete. After that who knows, something else. Really would like to go lower but I need to be able to tow and go off road when wanted so this is likely the lowest I can go without starting to spend bigger dollars. Probably time to get the tune done next. Lots of great info on here and lots of other nice trucks.
