2000 S10 fuel gauge turns on when tuck is off

Recommended Posts

Hello I recently bought a 2000 Chevy S-10, I noticed that after i shut off the vehicle that the fuel gauge was turning itself back on, thus causing a slow drain on my battery. I think this might be caused by a faulty ignition switch. I have since learned that if after the gauge turns back on if I put the key in and turn it just enough to shut off the gauge but not far enough for the dash lights to come on it doesn't move again. Please any help with this matter would be great. When the vehicle is running there are no issues with the gauges after that point, only when the truck is turned off does the fuel gauge move and cause my battery to drain. There are also no after market items on the vehicle.
