Ordered a whipple! Anyone that's got any tips or insight plea

Recommended Posts

Was all excited till chuck Anders told me I had the wrong blower coming and I should have gotten a p1sc instead. When I asked why the hate for the whipple all he had to say was the common roots cons vs centri and stated that whipple has had problems with intercooler pumps. Also stated fewer moving parts with the centri but nothing to denote the actual performance of the wa175x itself.

My goals are to push the stock short block as hard as I can and I feel either is capable of enough efficient boost to do that. Any regrets in hindsight going with the whipple? Also I plan on the lt4 pump and a cam w bigger/more pump lobes

I've got a used complete procharger kit with an F1A I'd trade ya. I use my truck as a truck and the whipple would be better for the towing and stuff I do....

From what I understand the major weak link is the 6.2 pistons. My perfect build would have drop-in pistons.

Recently drove your other car, x550i, pretty messed up that your supercharged denali will still likely be slower than the x5 stock. Those things are fast!

Lol it is fast but it should be neck and neck to 60 lol.

I just ordered a mission tuning flash for the x5 that puts it up another 80-100hp lol so its a moving target! N63tu ftw

The pistons are the same as the vette pistons and those guys push 700 or so before they get sketchy. Just want 600 :-)

The whipple is a 2.9. I am going to be running a Maf based setup from Julio Don. While drinking don Julio(lol). I don't have e85 in my area. Wish that I did but I have never seen it.

I bought a 20 year old truck 5 years ago with whipple. For the first 10 years the engine was stock with the whipple. The second it was stroke with dart heads, MSD and the whipple and 10lbs of boost. It has pod gadges with boost and under that lean, rich gadges and a light, green to yellow for safety. Under the dash there a dial pod for boost and timing retard, and rpm setting. No meth. There is no such thing with flooring it to take off or even flooring to pass at 60 or smoking the tires results. Right foot management is a must. So unless you plan on racing at the drag strip or chasing your tail trying to hook it up five lbs of boost should keep you smiling ear to ear. You gas pedal will spend very little time on the floor, or your glove box will be full of tickets. Have fun.

Whipples are great kits. Did you go with the 2.9? Are you going with progressive meth? Have you thought of converting to E85?

Think he has 6.2 so boost and e85 are out the window unless he spends $$$ to upgrade low & high side.
