Question

2007 GMC Yukon Denali keeps showing engine light and new codes after previous fixes. Any thoughts on what might be causing overall problem/root of problem? Codes 449, then 446, then 455. Dealer repairs vehicle, then within day of driving away, thinking vehicle is repaired, engine light comes back on and new code appears. Is in shop now for the 3rd time.....getting tired of this. Can't get to root of problem....any thoughts? And who should pay each time? Have spent $1500 already.

Welcome to the world of electronically controlled automobiles. :nonod:

Sounds like you need to steer clear of the dealer, and find a small local garage that has a good reputation, and specializes in OBD-II troubleshooting.

If you live in an area that doesn't test for emissions, don't waste your money - throw electrical tape over the light and call it a day. You and your engine won't know the difference. All those codes are for the EVAP system. That system has absolutely nothing to do with how your engine runs (unless a line were blown open between a valve and the intake, allowing air to enter the intake unmetered and unfiltered).

That system wins my personal award for vacuuming your wallet dry with absolutely zero in return. Biggest ripoff system ever devised by man, if your forced by your state government to comply.
