My 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Recommended Posts

Hello here is my Chevrolet Silverado 2500. I bought it last Saturday. It has 215K miles. Needs a little TLC here and there but its a pretty nice truck. I'm going to try and buy some parts for it here and there to make it a little nicer. Possibly new tail lights, climate control, door hinge pins and some other odds and ends.

Looks Good, Grats!! Get into some preserving before Iron Oxide gets a chance!! Good luck!

Thanks. I'm leaving it alone for the winter but once spring time comes around I'll need to get working on it. I thought about having the whole underside done with maybe some por-15. Buying this truck pretty much drained my bank account for the next couple months or so lol.

I would offer a cheap helper.

Buy some of the BLUE MARINE grease at a marina. has to be water PROOF..

Smear it on your door bottoms INSIDE, front and rear doors. will turn black when dust hits it, but NO rust can occur

The rust starts inside the door itself, but it can't hurt.

ok

there are some drain holes that you do not want to plug up with grease. if anything you want to blow them clean of any debris.

ok I'll see what i can do. I def want to prevent/slow down any rusting that these truck are known for

Are the dash guages known in these trucks for going bad? I started my truck after work and the volts read so low it kicked the battery light on in the dash, drove for 5 miles or so and the guage went back up to around 14 volts. Got in my truck again a little later and the volts were low enough again to turn the battery light on. I need to check the alternator with a multimeter and see what it reads. Just little things bother the crap out of me lol.
