my new 17 gmc sierra 1500 denali build

Recommended Posts

hey guys, i recently picked up a 17 gmc sierra 1500 denali to upgrade my 13 sierra denali, and im loving it!!. i am planning to do a 4 or 6 inch lift on 35s soon but i am doing the performance mods first , i will post pics when it is done, i put the truck in for a custom tune , exhaust and intake, but ended up having them build me a twin turbo kit which should have about 600 whp when its done or more if i want more since the turbos are good for 1400 together. here are the pics i should have the truck done in two weeks.

im still debating on what lift to go with but i might end up with bds 6 inch lift and icon or fox coilovers/shocks once the tuner finds out if he can disable the magna ride feature.

Cool deal on the future set up. It will have a lot more power.... A few questions...

Who is doing the work for you?

Where are you and the company located?

LASTLY how do you read that dyno.....Does it have gear shifts to explain why it moves all over the place? I am not a dyno expert by any means so just curious if they thought it was a good baseline for the engine specs versus actual rear wheel results (tranny loss %) . My truck is almost identical to yours but I won't be getting the fun blowers you are lined up for. Congrats and thanks for looking at my questions.

thank you, the guys name is rich farler, owner of RDE out of sacramento california. he is actually planning to market this kit as soon as he finsihes mine.

yes on the dyno he did say that it shifted a gear thats why you see that. should be making double the power that it has now and plenty of room to go up if i choose to with the turbos being able to push 700hp each. i hate the power loss with lifts and bigger tires so this should be fun when its all said and done , excited for the results.

no for now leaving that the way it is. he mentioned the new forged motors and 8 speed trans are really durable for more power than i will have.

All depends on where you play with the toys....

'17 Denali Ultimate + Twin turbo kit + lift with wheels & tires = One serious truck. But you should've just held out for the new Duramax if you wanted 900ft-lbs and a warranty...

I could of got the duramax but it doesn't fit my driving style or what I use the truck for, torque is nice but I rather have the hp to, plus its a thousand pounds lighter and smaller than duramax trucks, I don't care about warranty these trucks never have problems under 100k anyway, I mod everything I drive even if I had duramax I'd get it modded to be as fast as it can possibly be lol. Deseil lovers were blowing there minds that I paid for a truck as much as a deseil truck costs, I have all my work trucks deisel but for personal use I prefer gas power. I was actually wanting to get the new raptor truck because it fits my driving style but they are takin forever to come out with it and all dealers wants 20k markup on it when they finally do come out, for 20k I can make this denali tons better than the raptor.

haha , i dont understand why many people think deseil is the best way to go, each person has their own taste or prioritys, but for off road driving that i do sometimes to get to fishing or shooting spots the smaller and lighter truck is better, i dont tow anything over 10k pounds , usually my fishing boat thats about it so the 1500 is my choice of truck , with enough power to smoke the chipped deisel trucks, amg or other cars lol

congrats on the new truck, the whipple was my choice at first as well, but when i mentioned it to the tuner he offered to do the twins instead , and i prefer turbos just didnt know that option was available for this truck. post yours up when you get it all done.
