Clunk going over bump at slow speeds

Recommended Posts

My 2015 2500 4x4 with 19k miles seems to make a clunk under the truck towards the back, kinda sounds like I have a 5 pound weight is in the bed and it gets airborne a foot and slams back down, exhaust Dosent seem loose, and it doesn't do it when I bounce up and down on bumper.any ideas?

Check your tailgate, might not be latched all the way.

Jessel i believe its your ebrake cable running through the bracket located around the driver rear wheel on frame. I was havibg similar issues drove me bananas. Ended up with some peel n stick rubber from work and cu it down to size wrapped around cable fixed my rattle noise over bumps

rear leaf spring slap between the main spring and the first leaf. poorly made with little quality control. becoming an issue with many 2500s from 07 to current. replacing the spring will only help in the short term as the noise will return . only fix I found was placing a piece of small rubber hose between the main and 1st leaf at the rear spring pad, held in place with a zip tie through the hose around the first leaf. 2 trucks done this way. sucks on a new expensive vehicle. next we'll be using duct tape and chewing gum !
