1999 GMC Suburban C1500 SLT front brakes

Recommended Posts

I'm going to need to put new pads on my Suburban soon. I started looking at all the parts stores web sites and looking for pads and just in case rotors, though I don't think they'll need replacing just yet. But I noticed that all the parts stores seem to only have rotor and hub assembly available for my Suburban. Which got me to wondering, do I really need to change my hubs when it's time to replace my rotors? Assuming nothing wrong with the hubs on there that is.

Sorry for the newb question, I'm new to GMC trucks / SUVs.

The answer to your question is no. As long as the hubs are still in good condition then you can just replace the rotors if they need to be. I replaced my front rotors at about 150k due to a driver side brake caliper sticking due to debris. Didn't replace my front hubs until 230k when one side started making noise.
