Brand new 2500

Recommended Posts

Finally got the beans to pony up and upgrade from my 2015 CC 5.3 to a 2016 CC 6.6L.

Love this truck! I've been trolling some of the diesel forums and a lot of people say the CP4 pump is prone to failure. I want to do a delete on this engine but not after I get some miles in it.. The whole voiding the warranty scares me a little bit.

From what I have read these pumps possibly fail after a tune due to more power and such.. Conversions to a CP3 with a lift pump..

If I did do the delete I would want to keep it stock as much as I can. I know it has to be tuned to bypass all the alarms and codes for being deleted..

The CP4 issue, is it a concern if I still want to keep the stock output after being deleted?

Any opinions or insight would be great.. Thanks!

I feel what your saying. I have a 2015 CC 6.6 also. I'm leaving everything alone until warranty expiration. Currently near 19,000 miles and 18 months on the 5/100 powertrain warranty. Not going to piss away a warranty repair to act macho with a deleted Duramax and be a show off. If I still own this truck post warranty, then I'll consider it.

Mine is staying stock. If something breaks or gives me trouble, I'll fix it and probably trade it in before I delete and such
