Cooled versus ventilated seats

I had the ventilated in my 2014, and now have the cooled in my 2016 Silverado. biggest difference is the appearance, the 16 is a much cleaner looking seat on the back. no hard plastic shell with the cooling fan like the 2014 or my wives 2016 Tahoe.

I ended up getting a '17 suburban with ventilated seats and noticed they changed the design from the '16 as well. No more vents and hard plastic on the seat backs of the '17.

Looking to upgrade to a '17 soon. Are the ventilated seats a step down from my '15 cooled seats. I mean in the cooling dept. not appearance on the rear of the seat. can anyone comment having both if the 17 seats are any hotter because the '15's are barely warm.

I haven't tested the '17 ventilated seats yet in the summertime, but when I have them on, I can feel the airflow coming through the seat, and it has felt cool. I didn't have a '15 to compare against though.

Maybe stop by a local dealer and try them out?
