Running Boards for 94 Suburban

So my new-to-me 1994 Suburban K1500 SLE has no running boards and the women are raisin' Hades having to jump in. I don't see any easy mounting areas other than the frame and I'm surprised the factory didn't install mounts on the underside of the rockers. So I've been searching around and seen some mounting brackets but nothing looks that sturdy. Has anyone done aftermarket boards and been happy with the results? If so I'd love to hear what you went with.
