FIAT/Chrysler now in the spotlight for emissions cheating?

Recommended Posts

Government is like locusts. They will attack and feed on everyone eventually and then turn on themselves. Once they get the taste of blood by going after an OEM, they just can't help themselves from engaging in a feeding frenzy. First Navistar, then VW, and now FCA. They will not be happy until that have eaten the flesh and left nothing but bones of every vehicle OEM around.

The article is not telling the whole story. The employment prevention agency (EPA) says the vehicles emit "excessive" pollution when operated in conditions outside of testing parameters. To me this is akin to the EPA going after GM because your truck doesn't get the rated MPG when you blast down the highway doing 85.

This entire diesel scandal is total crap. The EPA knew about it for years and only went after VW to distract the sheeple who watch CNN from the fact the EPA themselves had just poisoned the Colorado River.

Let's add that there is evidence the EPA was aware of lead levels in Flint and did their best to cover it up. I want to protect our environment as much as the next guy, but the current EPA is incredibly corrupt, is too large of an agency, needs a good review and ass kicking back into shape.

And the EPA contractor spill that played havoc on a Colorado river (and New Mexico down stream). They just fine the snot out of someone they go after and dismiss claims from others over the mess they create.....

"The EPA said last month it will pay $4.5 million to state, local and tribal governments for their emergency responses, but the agency rejected $20.4 million in other requests for past and future expenses."

Everyone say it with me: this is nothing more than a WITCH HUNT. the EPA has pretty much choked diesels to the point where they don't get the fuel mileage they were getting 10-20 years ago.

That is about it in a nutshell. The EPA and the greenie crowd has been anti diesel for a long time. Even more so than their loathing of gasoline engines.

What always makes me laugh is the push for electric everything. But the EPA wants to cut all coal fired plants because of air quality, stop wind farms because it kills birds, hydroelectric is detrimental to fish, and nuclear still freaks people out. I guess this electricity is supposed to make itself.

Unless they have somehow figured out a way to harness lightning; it's looking like Big Solar is what they are pushing for.

EDIT: most nuclear accidents are caused either by Operator Error (Chernobyl and Three Mile Island) or poor facility design (Fukushima) in fact, the first new Nuclear plant to come online in over 20 years in the US was in my state; and TVA is EXTREMELY Proud of that fact!

It should be very clear to anyone that the inmates have taken over the asylum. Even the best script writer in Hollywood could not do as well making this stuff up. It is humorous on one level, but very disheartening on another when I think that my Grandchildren will have to endure this nonsense we didn't have the will to stop.
