Finally decided on a way to mount my phone. I used an old suction cup mount and cut it down to size.

I wanted to do something with this spot.

Here is before I got started

Here is about half way through cutting down the base.

Here is the finished product for mounting. I cut it down to where is fits very snugly in the slot. It's very sturdy. I will prolly cut it a little further and plasti dip the base as it squeaks ever so slightly over speed bumps and such.

Then I started thinking about my apple car play feature. I really like using the maps on the head unit. So I graves my 10 foot cord and started mocking up how to accomplish getting it to the USB. Here is what I came up with.

I noticed this hole in the back of the storage slot. I test fit the end of my cable and it fit.

Next was to find out if I could access this hole. So I popped off the fuse panel.

I grabbed a flat head screw driver an put the end in the hole and to my great surprise was able to locate it. This is the best pic I could get. I tried to get the shiniest part to show.

I then snaked the end up to the hole. This was way easier than I thought it was going to be.

Then I fed it through to the floor board.

I fed it over the OBD2 connector

Then fed it over these screws that attach the lower dash to the upper until I was in the passenger side floor board.

Surprisingly I was able to hit the last screw and come up the under side of the glove box. It fits perfect and does not pinch on bit.

Yet amazingly again it fit perfectly to the top storage door. I looped it around the top hinge and over to the USB. This fit so well I couldn't believe it.

This is how much I left sticking out of the slot. I made sure to test this before I started feeding the cord. Once the mount is in it is just enough cord to plug into the phone and not protrude in the way.

And the finished product with cord. It tucks so nicely into the mount until you need it. I love how it turned out.

Not to scare you but hang on to your receipt for those running boards. I had 2 goRhino products are both had the finish coat come clean off after a years regular use. It's like the metal wasn't prepped well. Hopefully you have better luck.

btw, Nice looking truck! :chevrolet:

I am hoping it lasts. I inspected it well. It looked solid so ill have my fingers crossed either way.

I placed another strip against the rear wall but once I put the seat down it completely covered it up. Least it will be useful if I ever need it with seat up.

Truck looks great Waymon. I was wondering what did you use for the footwell and rear lighting ?

I used these. I purchased them from a place called "Dirt Cheap" for $7 a strip

Added some under the hood lighting today. Turned out really great. Also installed those frame plugs and some reverse LED lights.
