Diablosport inTune - Enabling Wifi

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is already known or been posted on this forum. I searched and I didn't find it. Also, this may have been out there for some time, but I just noticed it as I just bought truck in early November 2016 and Diablo inTune i2030 tuner mid-December 2016. Just did my data logging today to send to DiabLew for customer tune.

To the point: I was updating my Diablo inTune i2030 (it downloaded minimal updates since just 2-3 weeks ago) and noticed a "banner" in the Windows Updater that said (basically) "Click Here to Enable Wifi for your Diablo inTune i2030". I clicked and it took me to the Diablo website link http://www.diablosport.com/wifi-registration/?serial=14U7ZB0U7V

Note: link also says they will send you some "magic" beads (lol) to attach to you USB and ODBC cables FREE (whaaaaat? FREE? That's what it says!)

I registered (it detected i2030 serial #, I just entered name, address, e-mail, etc. And it said you can now download Wifi updates. Downloaded and it installed another update, presumable for Wifi. Now, just waiting for the "magic" cable beads before use.

Apparently this will let us 1) Update tuner without connecting to PC, 2) Change "some" settings on truck (?) without ODBC connector (???) Need to read more about this. I assume this would require the OnStar Wifi to be enabled on truck, which after trial I have no use for.... I'm an IT guy and have WAP/hotspot on my iPhone and don;t plan to pay for truck Wifi or OnStar.

Enjoy!

How do you like the tuner for your truck? Significant difference to wherected it is worth the money?

Honestly, it's early to say for me on how good the Diablo tuner is with canned tunes. Primary for me was to correct tire size, speedometer and odometer. Did that perfectly. Second was to disable the AFM/DoD V4 crap. Did that well. Too early to verify canned tunes over stock on how truck runs, performance, mpg, etc. but no criticism. I didn't have many miles on truck before installing canned 87 tune, disabling AFM/DoD and correcting tire size. So many rave about DiabLew custom tunes, so I'm going to take a shot at that. Will keep you posted.

I did the canned 87/89 octane tune and firmed the shift. I'm still debating whether I want to disable DOD. Driving the same route and manner that I do to work, I have found it has better throttle response, holds gears longer, and doesn't go into V4 as quickly as it did before. In just the little time I have driving it tuned, I am liking it.

I will eventually play around with some of the custom settings, but for now I feel it was worth the investment.

Sending data logs to DiabLew today for custom tune after matching Airaid Jr intake with Borla ZR-1 40943 (12" SS oval, 3" in/out) factory muffler swap yesterday. I decided to go with a muffler swap ($150 for Borla) instead of the cheaper muffler delete since Texas inspection requires a muffler and a few performance exhaust peeps advised short free flow muffler as opposed to straight pipe. BTW, Borla claims that their free flow mufflers flow more air than a straight pipe (go figure). Not loud at all. Could hardly tell a difference in cab until I clamped the adaptive exhaust valce (flapper) open. Now sounds like a v8 truck should from factory. Not really noticeable on highway, just when you get into it hard, but no where near obnoxious. I like. Will keep you posted on Diablo tuner Wifi and post my thoughts on DiabLew tune, but there are a ton of reviews already on his tune.
