Lol Plastidip looks like trash

If you don't know how to use it, you are correct. If you know how to do it properly it looks awesome. I've only used it on my bowties on my truck but the amount of times people have asked me if that's the OEM black bowtie from GM makes me think it's not trash...

I have a 2016 sierra SLE and I want to paint the "aluminum" pieces but I'm not sure if they're actually aluminum or just a special plastic.?

At first I thought, why? Then the idea grew on me and now I'm curious if you're planning to paint these trim pieces the color of the truck's body? This could have potential and I would like to see the results. I'd be more inclined to do this with a Chevy as I like the look of the aluminum treatment.

If you see something you like and seems like you have a really good deal for paint then go for it I say! It's really your truck and you can do whatever you want. It sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't try to paint over the seirra aluminum pieces though as I'm sure a member on here would trade you for those possibly is all. Seems like a lot of people like the aluminum look instead of wood grain or the painted pieces in the Silverado.
