On top of all these issues I did get the brake one fixed my service advisor whom is no longer there text me and let me know I was not notified by mail from the dealership I bought it from in March 2015 that anything was wrong I looked up all these recalls on my own . which I will just let you know Dick Genthe Chevrolet in Southgate Michigan is where we purchased . Ever since I've received this vehicle I have always heard cracking in the windshield and my back window cracking like rocks are hitting it one day I got a rock chip Safelite came out and repaired at it then grew to a long crack and then I got another crack in the same spot no more rock chips but I still here cracking and I have multiple cracks all over my front windshield I've notified GM GM was more than willing to repair my windshield the service manager Steve at Dick genthe Chevrolet refused and said I wanted something for nothing that I had rock chips all over my vehicle and where have I been driving my truck which is an LT Z 4 x 4 !??!WTF really I live in the state of Michigan in the state that is known for having the worst roads in the world and besides that he act like he was coming out of his pocket so he refused to repair my windshield when it only had one crack now I have several and I am calling GM again today I see multiple people are having the same issue they need to fix these windshields something is wrong and it's not with just mine I have a LTZ Chevy Silverado 4x4 Double cab!!!!!! Besides the nonsense madness recalls and not being notified at all about these recalls they need to fix these windows before my windshield caves in on me and I sue GM and the dealership that refused to fix it in the first place . Because besides myself I do have four children and if one of us get hurt they are 100% liable !!! My SR# from gm is 8-1840868927 Mark was a very nice gentleman unfortunately the dealership was not willing to help me !!!!

Feel better now that you ranted?

It is hard to figure out what you are even wanting with the run-on sentences, and the topic mentions nothing about windshields.

GM is not going to be liable for a windshield caving in since you know it is broken and have not had it replaced. Besides that, it would be impossible for it to cave in due to numerous factors such as: top speed vehicle can obtain, design of the assembly, the way they are attached, etc.

Also review similar vehicle makes and models with same complaints!!! Mine just so happens to pertain to multiple!!! And no resolution! I wil not fix a windshield under my insurance that thousands of others are complaining about!!!! N

I'm sorry your dealer refuses to replace it under waranty. (if you have one?) but if tell you they won'tdo it, its up to you to take care of.

Cracked windshields are the only thing I have ever used my insurance for. If you are afraid of them raising your rate for getting a cracked windshield replaced, you need to find a new insurance company and get that thing replaced somehow.

But muddkatt is correct, today's windshields are designed specifically to NOT cave in, even with impacts. so you don't need to worry about that.

Thanks not too concerned on caving windshield frustration with not being notified of the multiple issues and gm willing to repair windshield under warranty. There is a constant cracking sound even when not driving. But seatbelt and airbags with the children is major concern the brake was issue was they has to tighten a bolt which was a quick fix when I serviced for oil change.

Did you recently move or something? They usually pull the addresses from the DMV registration information for recall letters. Also, sometimes a recall will come out but you won't get notified for 1 to 2 months after.

No I verified GM and dealer both have correct info, that was the first thing I thought of I didn't instantly accuse them of not informing me I doubted my I's and crossed my t'sbefore I brought it up . ;)

I believe the 4x4 disengage thing was a "service bulletin", not a recall.

They did not send out any notice to anyone for that. They just fixed mine when I went in for an oil change too, I didn't know about it ahead of time.

I bet that cracking sound is coming from the radio surround trim; lots of complaints on that. Both my 2015 and my current 2017 both made/make cracking sound coming from the radio surround trim. Sounds exactly like a rock hit the windshield. It can happen when you hit a bump in the road or just by changing the temperature of the cabin; having the heat on when its cold, that temp change can make it pop/crack. Try pushing on the trim around the radio and the radio itself, see if you hear anything. It is really anoying.

Mud, I think run on's and the like is a millennial thing. That, and the ranting.

Chill out a bit, Chrissy. No one here owes you anything. But there are allot of members here that will help out as best they can with advice.

Hood bug deflectors have been known to create a cracking sound from the windshield area. The disrupt the aerodynamics.

Interesting, never heard that one before.
