2013 Suburban

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, so I have no idea if I'm doing this right at all. Never used a forum or anything before except for some answers here and there. Anyways, I'm sitting in Afghanistan thinking about what I can do to my 2013 Suburban that I bought before I came over here. Honestly, I'm a Ford guy and come from the diesel world. I'm a diesel mechanic. That being said, what all can I do to make some halfway decent power out of this 5.3 but still keep it a daily? Wanting to stay away from having to stall it out until I get into boost and such. Any help is appreciated!(also what websites can i order parts from?)

Supercharger and a good tune will offer the most bang for the buck. Exhaust systems don't do crap for performance on these vehicles because the stock exhaust system is already very adequately flowing the air, can't really improve on that. Go check out the Blackbear forum on this board.

Well forced induction is a little out of the budget right now. I was thinking more along the lines of a good tune, cam, and deleting the DOD/AFM. I don't want such an aggressive cam that I need a stall though. Also, how much can these trans handle as a daily?

These are the specs from 2008 for the 6L80, don't see how they'd change much in newer years

Maximum engine power: 469 bhp ( 349 kW )
Maximum engine torque: 439 lb-ft ( 595 Nm )
Maximum gearbox torque: 664 lb-ft ( 900 Nm )
