2017 Max Trailering Built to Order

Recommended Posts

About to pull the trigger and order a 1500 with everything we want – and without everything we don’t want. Been looking at, studying all the possible configurations and test driving for 2 weeks.........

Going from a 2007.5 GMC Sierra SLE 2500 Duramax, standard box. Think the 6.2L + Max Tow is going to be a little hot rod in comparison. Won’t have the torque of the Duramax, but that 6.2L is no slouch. Will be gaining a smoother ride, and many creature comfort features, and safety features the 2500 does not have. And still easily tow our typical load, at not even half of its rated capacity.

Think the proportions of the short box trucks look great, and best for the 99% of the time when it is just a daily driver.

Nice setup. Not what I would get, but if it fits with your needs, go for it! We each have differing needs. I need more box than the short bed, and I like having the flex fuel 6.0L in my 2500. Payload capacity is just as critical for me as towing capability. And mine is not a daily commuter pickup. For what you describe as your needs, it should be a fine ride!

Thanks - Yea no flex fuel around here. Was hard enough to find bio-diesel for the Duramax.

At first we were all about the standard bed. Then realized rarely did I ever fill it up, and have a trailer for those big nasty loads.

Some of the things we did not want when trying to find one at a dealer: Sunroof, Nav, Steps, and most of the colors. Did like the pearl white color too.......... Maybe the black if it was metallic.........

2017 sounds sweet with 6.2 and max tow. How many miles on your 2007.5 duramax LMM? Any issues? You will prob miss the torque of the diesel but not the stiff ride :-)

Only 90,000 miles on the LMM - Never any issues other than minor recalls early on all new models see - well it's still waiting for airbags like millions of others. :shakehead:

Always did everything asked of it and more - towing up a mountain pass in cruise control - putting you back in your seat to pass when not towing - it's a BEAST. :cold:

For sale in the Seattle area if anyone is interested.........

No foolin' - Hope to find a private buyer for the LMM before the new Siren arrives...... Rather than trade it in.....

The '53 COE I built in the early '90's when the Cab Over Engine trucks were just becoming popular to modify. Then sold it to my eccentric uncle car guy who aged it under a tarp for 20 years......... Got it back in 2012 and raised it from the dead and back on the road - a little more Krusty now......

Deposit placed today 1/24/17........ We will see how the factory order timeline goes. Can't wait for the :pimp: new ride......

Now to look into WeatherTech floor liners, and some kind of bed cover that is easily removable. Don't think the rig will "need" much else ............

I found a dealer who really wanted my trade ('11 Yukon Denali XL) he went the extra mile and found me this truck 4hrs away and went and got it

Only thing I would have changed was black instead of coco/dune gut, but interior looks great with truck color

This has all you ordered plus nav and roof

Bed cover is folding GM cover, used my GM buisness card rebate.

Flaps, Tonneau, vent shades installed before delivery, so they are covered under the bumper to bumper warranty

Love the COE by the way, had a '53 5 window shorty for a long time.

Currently have a '71 C10 shorty

Nice old ride too........... Yea I was about what I didn't want just as much. Cocoa dune was a deal breaker - and was going to be a cleaning nightmare for me - Dogs - Blue jeans - Food spills. I saw them with 10 miles on the lot already showing dirt on the driver's seat...........

You will just have to keep after it - or go Katzin - I went that route on my 2007.5 to change out the lint collector cloth - they actually had to reissue new fabric on those lint collector seats if you pushed it.........

You should look at the GM mats, I have the weather techs and wish I just got the new GM ones, we have them in our Acadia and they are just as nice if not better than weather techs. I also have the tri fold cover from GM and it's fairly easily to take off but folds into thirds for smaller loads.
