At this morning's Presidential Breakfast at the White House, President Trump greeted GM's Mary Barra warmly and received from her a firm handshake. Trump offered her the seat to his right at the table. Other executives included Sergio Marchionne of FCA US and Mark Fields of Ford. The main topic for discussion was strengthening automotive jobs located in the United States.

The full video of the meeting is posted below. GM issued this official statement following the meeting:

We had a very constructive and wide-ranging discussion about how we can work together on policies that support a strong and competitive economy and auto industry, one that supports the environment and safety. The U.S. is our home market and we are eager to come together to reinvigorate U.S. manufacturing. We all want a vibrant U.S. manufacturing base that is competitive globally and that grows jobs. It's good for our employees, our dealers, our suppliers and our customers.

"no more backdoors" was another presidency I remember.
