Thought I would put up a comparison of the projector headlights vs LED headlights. The projectors are on a 2015 GMC 2500, the LED are on my 2017 GMC 1500. Both pics were taken the same night in some foggy conditions, fog lights were on in both pictures (low beam).

That's a good question would be interesting to see. I am not a big high beam user actually hardly ever use them but when these LED lights are on high beam it's like a sportsfield very similar to the lighting on the new farm equipment. For people like me that are closing in on getting old these lights are huge feature.

The new lights are so nice. I have a 2015 sierra with projector lights. My truck was getting some warranty work and they gave me a 2017 sierra SLT for a loner. WOW..the lights were so much better. I got my truck back and it's like it had no headlights. Lol

Game changer? Does every other car sold not have them including many new trucks? Might need to reconsider what a game changer is...

Not seeing the big difference, the projector look like they go further and possibly a little wider. They look less uniform and bright. Do the led look like they are better? Yes, but not as much as I would expect. Would be nice to see a staionary on the same spot and same road side by side shot to see what and where it actually lights up better. A brighter light directly in front of the truck isn't better.

Not quite a fair comparison as the 15 2500 has halogen headlights and the 16 is LED, I would like to see the factory HID against the LED. I hear LED gets very hot and also has a fan to cool the bulbs off.

X2 Definitely checked night lighting on unlit back roads before purchase. Other than color didn't see difference between the brightness/coverage in lighting on the '16 1500 Silverado HID against the '16 LED.

I actually have 2016 LED headlights in my 2015 Sierra 1500. Before that I had 35w HIDs in my stock headlights. Honestly I am still unsure about the 16s. The instant on sure is nice. If I feel well enough I may throw back in one of my OEM headlights and do a side by side at night this weekend.

The 2015's projectors are so bad that even with the aftermarket LED's I threw in it is the first time I have considered trading my truck in for a newer model simply because of headlights. Windy roads at night in the rain? Cant see a damn thing.

Using a harness. I am at work now so I can't repost pics but if you have an SLT then you only need a small harness.

How are you guys swapping over the 2016 lights into the 2015s. I was under the assumption that they were not able to be swapped.

I'm not quite sure where the thread was but there was a thread on this site that explained how to do what you are talking about and it may have been for the Chevy LTZ's. If I can some how locate it later I will post it. Arth is correct. From what I've read it's just a harness swap. From what I can tell by comparing a 2015 denali and a 2016 SLT there is no sheet metal change between the two so light assemblies should fit one or the other.

Arth and several others, myself included, have completed the swap. I'm not sure if this will work to link you to the thread for the swap or not:
