At the Chicago Auto Show, Chevy announced a new special edition line covering both cars and trucks. The preview of this look was shown at the 2015 SEMA Show. Called Redline, the new trim is an appearance package that adds red and black highlight stripes and black wheels. There are other small touches, such as recovery hooks in red and bowtie logos in black.

Chevy's Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet, commented on why the line was created, saying, "Our special edition lineup has been popular with customers and dealers, alike. Since the introduction of special editions on vehicles the like Silverado and Camaro, vehicle average transaction prices have increased, time to turn has decreased, and conquest rates have risen, which has contributed to making Chevrolet the fastest-growing brand in the industry two years in a row.”

Any body else sick and tired of all these "special" packages with different stickers on them? Why can't they try to do something really special, maybe throw the 6.2 into a reg. cab and call it an SS or offer something a bit more off road capable like the Rebel. Would love a GM version of the Power Wagon. I would even be more happy with GM if they just stopped marketing these packages like they are the "cat's meow", absolutely hate all the new commercials.

Ok sorry rant over.

While I agree with the silly special package stuff, they won't do anything "really" special like that 6.2L in a regular cab truck because.. well.. that would be very silly and expensive to bring something like that to market with all the additional testing and government certifications and EPA happiness and all that blah stuff that they would have to do. Aint gonna happen.

While I don't totally disagree with you, why is Dodge/Jeep putting the 6.4 Hemi into Durangos and Grand Cherokees?

at least they are doing something.

the 88-98 , one had to look real close... or even listen to its actions to know what engine etc.

the plain jane truck could be the sport version sailing by most others looking identical.

I go as far as looking at rake and stance, and wheels, just like today..

may as well add paint. Better than no changes at all.

I am still disappointed from the gmt400 years going silent with different variations.

Although it is fun to think, all models are sleepers. no one can tell.

I agree completely!! Give us an actual package that's more than just paint and decals!! The ZR2 Colorado is heading in the right direction, but that's about all we have right now.

Yet somehow their competitors can do it. SRT Durango, Raptor, Etc.
