Squeaky rubbing sound coming from B pillar area

Recommended Posts

2016 Silverado 3500 regular cab. Any slight road imperfection causes this annoying sound on driver's side. There is a small area of paint rubbed off inside the door frame at about eye level and I'm guessing that's the source (where the plastic piece on the door is making contact).

I can get the noise to almost stop if I lean with all my body weight against the door. I guess I could just start driving like that all the time.

Also I get a driver's door not closed message briefly every time I shut the door and put the truck in drive. (Stays on about 1 second) I'm wondering if that's related?

I have noticed a similar squeak in that area in my 2016 Sierra 2500 Crew Cab. I will look in the morning and see if I have the paint rubbing. About 18K miles on the truck.

I used to get a noise on drivers side but it was from not folding the rear seat down firmly. Might check that, it will drive ya nuts but you have to really slam my rear seat down good and it stops. It was more behind you than next to your head area.
