Signed the papers on a 2017 Silverado 3500 Midnight (First NEW Truck)

Recommended Posts

Well the day has come, signed the papers and traded in my 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 3500 for a 2017 Silverado 3500 Midnight Edition my first new truck I have ever owned!

Taking delivery on Thursday or Friday.

Loaded it up with every option available, except floor mats (Already have the weather tech mats).

Planning on a few small mods and looking for some feedback on plans.
In Process
1) Transferring the Intelli-haul 5 camera system from the Denali to the Silverado

2) Transferring the Morimoto LED Fogs from the Denali to the Silverado

3) Illuminated Black Bowtie, after seeing this in person how wouldn't I do this

4) Curt 20k 5th wheel / gooseneck kits for the factory system

Looking for Suggestions

1) Looking for a new tonneau cover, had a Retrax on the Denali, but I had a lot of leaking issue, looking for suggestions

2) LED Tail Lights, looking for suggestions, the Anzo Black Style is intriguing

3) LED 3rd Brake, looking for suggestions

4) LED Headlights, either a full swap the Anzo with the switch backs looks incredible, but using an H3 bulb is concerning over an H11

5) SwingCase, trying to decide the factory cases or the UnderBed Cases, (I had wheel well storage before but had problems with straps rusting and freezing in the winter)

10) ??? Suggestions ???

Also maybe this is an odd question but I disagreed with my dealer but ultimately went through with the deal, but I noticed the tires are different between the 2500 and the 3500, on the 2500 they are more aggressive Wangler tires, on the 3500 they are more of a highway all-terrain tire. Very disappointed as I wanted that look of the Wangler to match the look of the truck, I have similar tires on my Denali and the road noise was minimal. Am I overthinking this or should I just deal with it or buy the more aggressive tires

Did a 2/1 lift on the Denali but not sure if I would do that again, cant go much higher without doing an axel flip on the 5th wheel and that causes too many problems.

Thanks in advance!

Since some will ask, I traded a barely broken-in Denali because I was getting up close to 100,000 miles and the deal was right at the right time.

Looking good! How do those illuminated bowties work? Do they wire in with the parking lights?

They use a factory jumper harness from the driver's side head lights (unplug headlight and plug in the new harness between both), super easy install. Dealer quoted $500 installed, got the parts for $220 and the install took about an hour with me being super careful to scratch the paint. Really happy how it turned out.

Had the 3rd Brake light smoked and replaced the tails with Anzo, originally did Spyder but I wasn't happy with them, looked more orange than red. Note though the Spyder ones were actually engineered where the Anzo they use the factory housings and put an insert into the light buckets.

Got quite a bit checked off my list, last items are the lift, new tires and a hidden light bar behind the grill.
