355HP Z71
I was driving home from work today and I started noticing some vibration in the steering wheel and brake pedal . When I was coming to stops the truck was vibrating and shaking while the truck was slowing down . When I got home the drivers side wheel had some serious heat coming from it and also had a burnt smell and a build up of brake dust on the wheel. I also heard a ticking noise coming from inside the wheel while the truck was shut off . I think it was coming from the caliper but not sure . This has happened twice now in the last two weeks . Im guessing the caliper is sticking ? The truck only has 40,000 miles on it . Has anyone else had this promblem ?

BigBadSierra
You need to take them apart clean an lube them and put them back together. I do this every spring as they salt our roads. Most people who I hear complain their brakes never last and wore out too soon answer the question I ask them the same way.. "Did you ever service them?" They all say "No!!!!" We have a 2013 Escape my wife uses for work by cleaning the brakes regularly they finally wore out at 100,000 miles not the pads the rust got the rotors. 355HP Z71
Thanks guys ! I took it to the dealership and she said it should be covered under the extended warranty .
355HP Z71
Just got back from the dealership . It was a bad left front brake caliper . The rotor was warped and the pad was glazed because of the heat . So I ended up with a new caliper and new pads and rotors on both sides .With 40,000 miles it was out of the 3 / 36,000 warranty . Good thing I bought the extended warranty as it was all covered!
