Truck Squatting

Recommended Posts

Before I pull out the tape measure and ask you all for a comparison, I thought I would ask a question. For about 2 months' I have had about 1,000 pounds of ballast and other gear in the bed. This weekend, I removed everything. When I look at it, the truck appears to have lost the rake where the rear is higher. It looks more like it has been leveled. Are my eyes playing a trick on me, or is it possible the springs have not 'bounced' back to their normal position? If I can, I'll post a pic

Drive it for a while, the springs should rebound to nearly their previous height. Springs can lose their arch, but that's usually from age and fatigue.

The only reason they wouldn't rebound is if they got bent or loaded so hard they were in a negative arch (past their working range), but the bump stops should prevent that.

And I'm not saying they will rebound 100%...again, they do fatigue and age.
