Vibration Buy Back

I've been experiencing vibration issues in my 2017 silverado 1500. Been to the dealer several times with no fix. Just wondering how many of you have been through the buy back process and what advice you might give. I really don't want to bring a lawyer into this and would rather work with GM.

This is a tough one. Buybacks are hard to get because the vehicle becomes a "branded" car, which means the dealer has to disclose all issues when trying to resale the car. from my own experience, ask for a trade allowance, drawback is you can only get into another new Chevy and have to deal with the dealership that you are dealing with now. open a claim with Chevy, get with the GM at the lot and the service manager and let them know of your intent. be patient and persistent. try every avenue that you can, there are lots of stories on this thread, take the good advise and don't use the "bad" that does not pertain to you.

I read through that link you posted; you said your 2nd truck also vibrated. Did you ever get that resolved on the new/2nd truck??? What was the cause and fix for that.

Just curious, you never updated that thread. Just crazy you got 2 in a row that vibrated.

I know this topic has been discussed on other threads extensively. There seems to be a variety of causes and levels of severity with the vibration complaint. There is also a range in efforts by the dealerships and truck owners to resolve the issue. What steps has your dealer done in attempts to fix the problem? There is often an order to the steps taken, usually starting with the wheels and tires. If a potential cause is ruled out, go to the next step. A buy back is many steps up the ladder! BTW - If you feel that your relationship with your dealer is strained, you may be more satisfied going to another GM dealer. Sometimes there is value in a fresh start!

Another thing I would like to add. I requested a meeting with the regional manager so we could discuss the finer details. During the meeting, I had a copy of every work order (which had a complaint about the vibration), every receipt for things that I had bought for the truck, a copy of the local Lemon Law, loan information (the amount I owed on the truck being bought back) and last of all, I wasn't acting like an a$$hole. I know the Service Manager and Regional Manager knew that I had my ducks in a row, ready for a fight, but thankfully it didn't come to that. The Regional Manger was amazing and she did go above and beyond with the flexibility during the financial portion.

Ok anyway.. To answer your question, the new truck does vibrate but not a bad as the previous one. I have been working with the service manager on trying to figure it out, as we are both curious as to what is causing it. I had the driveshaft balanced and the runout checked all was good, my next step is to check the axels and see if they are out of round. Recently the dealership performed an update for the transmission and during that time I mentioned the vibration, so the paper trail has started within the dealership. I really don't want to go through the buyback again, but if I have to I will.

Good luck with this process. Let me know if you have questions.
