Hey everyone! I'm new to this site and just got my 2017 Silverado LT 1500 last week. I did a search on this topic but came up empty. I love the headlights with the LED switchback strip on the LTZ, Z71, and High Country. I was wondering if anyone has tried or considered putting those on an LT package. Are the harnesses the same so it would be a simple plug-and-play or am I just having wishful thinking to think its that simple. If not plug-and-play, what kind of modifications would have to be done (or potential harness replaced) to make these lights work?

Let me know your thought, concerns, or problems this upgrade may have. And if anyone has a picture of the wiring harness of the switchback LED strip headlight and could post it so we can compare the 2 to see if they are the same or even similar and what differences there are between the two headlights. Thanks in advance!

I have done this upgrade! I have a 2016 LT and didn't know there was a difference in the lighting between LT and LTZ until after the fact. So I began my quest to see what else was different between LT and LTZ. You won't need a new harness but you will need resistors, otherwise, you'll get hyperflash. I built my own Plug and Play harnesses with inline resistors.

I've also added the DL3 Mirrors which have the turn signal, puddle lamps, power fold, auto dim.

Thread on that here:

I did the LED Tail Lights and Heated Steering Wheel.

And Auto Dim Mirror -

Just what I was looking for, thank you! What wires did you have to splice into for the resistor? And do you have a thread for the LED tail light upgrade?

You'll have to tap the turn Signal circuit and ground for each side.

For the tail lights, I bought a PnP harness from Gen5DIY. If I recall, it was $80.

For the headlights, I believe their PnP harness is like $100... Since my recent harness projects, I decided to make my own.

If you decide to do this upgrade, PM me.

how much were the liz upgrade lights? and where can i buy them?

I've been looking on ebay for some and it looks like for a pair they are in the ballpark of $1200-$1500. Pgamboa bought his LTZ ones and immediately sold his LT lights and had very little out of pocket money.
