LG G4 and wireless charging

Recommended Posts

Anyone using a LG G4 phone with wireless charging? I bought a rear cover for the phone that is supposed to work, but I'm not having any luck. The phone is slightly curved, maybe that is the problem. It does charge very briefly but then stops. I have moved it, turned it and cussed it and still nothing.

I have the same phone and the issues I've had are my phone case being too bulky and it sliding too far from the charging pad. Another thing to check is that the wireless charging sticker on your phone back aligns with the contact points on your phone. It can be tweaked slightly without damaging it if you are careful.

The wireless charging pad they put in these truck are weak.

My Samsung S7 charges fine out of the case but with a thin case it has issues.

Fnny thing is my case has a plastic guard that covers the sides I take it off it works then even with the rubber case on.

However it works 100% of the time on the Samsung charge pad with the case on.

So your issue is just the weak charge pad they put in the truck.

As stated above, the OEM charger is terribly weak. When I first looked into adding the OEM charger to my truck, I found it was a single coil charger, where as many cheap standard Qi chargers are 3 coil, giving better performance and greater coverage area. It was a no brainer to go aftermarket for perf and cost, and mine charges through the rubber pad and through the silcone case on my S7 without issue.

I'm a little late to the party but wanted to chime in that my lg g4 works with the wireless charger. A couple things. Bluetooth can interfere with it somehow. If you are having issues, try disabling Bluetooth temporarily or re-pairing your phone. Also, it needs to be oriented so the bottom of the screen is toward the rear of the truck and push it all the way toward the rear of the truck until the bottom of the phone hits the rear lip on the charging pad. Mine works this way even with one of those silicone cases.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus so it is too large for the pad so what I find works is I prop the end of my phone on the rubber step and have the top of my phone right under the label and it charges fine there every time.

You mean your LG g4 hasn't Boot looped yet? You're lucky. I had 2 die.

Mine boot looped. Sent it in to LG. They repaired it and sent it back out the same day they received it. Some of the best customer service I've received in recent memory. Of course, it would be best if it didn't even need to be sent in, but I was happy with how they handled it.
