No interest?

Recommended Posts

I've been on no less than five dealer lots, obviously looking at new Equinox; and not one salesperson has approached me to see if I was interested in buying. Must be the new norm for Chevy dealers?

On a side note, the local CarSense used car place had a salesman out, he got us into four cars to test drive, and was pleasant to talk to...I would have bought an Equinox from him, but decided to go new...

Just disappointed in the lack of interest by the GM dealers...hard for me to justify staying in brand.

Have you tried reaching out via Email or social media to any of the dealers? Lots have been going that route for the initial go in. We've had quite a bit of out of state customers lately from online routes. One of our new Z06 went to PA, and our last 2016 HD went to Massachusetts. What year are you looking at?

The one I called about and told the guy I was coming to look at, got there "oh, we just sold that one"....

The second dealer, we were there 15 minutes before close...oh, we can't do anything today, come back tomorrow...

Last dealer was closed at 630PM on Friday night...really?

The wife is so disappointed right now she said she's not even sure she wants another GM product because of their lack interest to sell a car...

You're mad the dealers aren't open too late? Or that they can't sell you a car in 15 minutes? I hate being assaulted by sales people so being given time to look around is wonderful. Make an appointment online. I've done this with 4 vehicle purchases now and it makes things a lot smoother if you can tell them in advance the trim/color/whatever you're interested in so they can potentially have one ready to look at when you arrive.

Post you and your wife's pics and maybe a short video of your gait and demeanor plus a pic of the the vehicle that you drove up in on the car lots and I am betting that the forum can figure what the issue is.......and give you some great feedback.

Last I knew, most people get paid on Friday? Oh, that's right all of you are too worried about bar hopping to buy a car.

They are open until 6pm, I was there before closing to BUY A CAR. What is the point of being open until 6PM if you won't even allow me to TEST DRIVE a car I might buy?

If I didn't track them down, they wouldn't even bother asking. I'd like to have someone talk to me about what I'm looking to buy.

I guess this 2012 might have been the last GM we bought...if this is the norm for a GM dealers, I don't want another. I want someone interested in selling me a car, not a Walmart cash register tender sitting at the dealer.

I'm trading a 2009 Forestor FXT, but a decent little car...what would it matter what we walk like...nobody is there to see it?

And for the record, the few lots I was on earlier today I was driving my truck...I spent no less than fifteen minutes looking at the different Equinoxes at these places, just walking around, looking at the window stickers...not even a can I help you or get your POS out of the way...

trying to explain to you that you need to look more like a victim out there man if you want attention. Car salesman are looking for succas. Now get the old clothes on and walk around like you are really confused instead of that confident strut and you will be covered up with clownhead salespeople. happy shopping

Maybe that's it...the guy we did talk to asked how much we owed on the FXT, and I said the wife has the title in her purse...he gave me this absolutely confused looked and asked me again how much we owed. Umm, if I have the title, I think I own it outright?

I guess I was expecting more enthusiasm about selling me a car...the dealer I worked at would have stayed late to make a sale, would have been more than happy to let a potential customer take a test drive...would have made the sale.

I feel like I'm shopping at McDonalds...um, yes, I'll take the blue one, does this come with a fries.

The last 2 vehicles I bought were found on line. Called for availability and an appointment.

Knew in a few minutes if I was interested. :happysad:

Finally, had a dealership with interest selling one...

Salesman was down to earth, the finance guy was a little high strung. No haggling, they gave a decent amount for trade and the incentives brought the purchase price down.

The only headache was a credit lock I had activated a while back that I had to call and turn off...
