You know why they pulled the back off the seats? Heating elements or something like that?

Well if my assessment of them breaking in to find weapons is correct, my guess is they've found stuff there in the past. I also thought about the heaters and cooling fan, but to my knowledge everything appears intact.

Man that sucks! Seems like a lot these robbery posts seem to happen in the Houston area. :(

When I was in high school, the most you really worried about was someone egging your vehicle out of envy. Happened to my '68 bronco on a couple of nights in a row, so a friend and I slept in the vehicle one night waiting for it to happen again. Had my suspicions on who it was. Sure enough, I saw him walk up the street with a handful eggs, and once he threw the first one, we jumped out, chased him down, and proceeded to beat the f*ck out of him. He went home, and his parents showed up at the house the next morning all pissed off. We explained what he had been doing, including the evidence, which he decided wasn't worth telling his parents about when they asked him about the black eyes. They found they were missing eggs from their fridge, and his goose was cooked. They made him come over that Saturday and hand wash and wax my Bronco, bruised and all. Good parents, rotten kid.

That really sucks - I've been there too. I was at the gym a few years ago, drove an Avalanche at the time. I was parked literally in front of the gym but these guys were clearly brazen - same type of vandalism (ripped open the glove box, cut open seats, etc, very similar damage). There was nothing in there to steal but I was $1000 deductible lighter in my wallet too!

My buddies would open the hood on my '63 Impala and swap the plug wires around. I'd know it as soon as it cranked and it was a PITA to get the V8 purring again.

Ok. Not the same deal for sure but hoped I made someone smile.

Sorry dude.

Sorry for your mishap. It sucks and I'm all too familiar.

I had a 96 Ram and in 1997 while at my girls place her jealous ex boyfriend and drug addict set my truck on fire.... Twice! Yes that's right! Happened to be parked about a block from a firehouse downtown Chicago. They put out the first fire pretty quickly. He was watching so he came back and set it on fire again! That time enough people saw him and cops busted him. My father happened to be driving by and saw it was my truck. I remember waking up at my girls place with my dad standing in doorway. Freaky morning for sure. The story goes on but I've rambled too much already

I got a copy of the video this afternoon. He shoved a screwdriver or something similar in the window frame and glass just popped out and shattered. Never opened the door, just dove through the window and rifled through the truck with feet hanging out.

seems that possibly the seat panel ripped off could be a secret storage behind the storage panel ... that I just found out about (?) though your not supposed to break it when you take it off ...

You mean at the wrist and tattoo a red target in the middle of their forehead to distinguish them from those who accidentally lost a hand!!! I hate thieves.

OP can you post the video or a link to it?

Did I mention ''I hate thieves''!!!

Wouldn't the alarm go off either way - open the door or break the window and dive in onto broken glass? Talk about an IQ test........

So sorry about your truck. Hopefully will be fixed back better than new in short order. If you are like me, it is probably a blessing you didn't catch the person in the act.

It's a blessing for him for sure. Would've had a .45 hollow point with his name on it. I'd shoot to wound, not to kill. Let him deal with the repercussions.
