2017 Yukon Denali Radar Detector Hard Wiring

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, just picked up my 2017 Yukon Denali last night and I am wondering if anyone has hard wired a radar detector in to one of these yet? I have an Escort Max360 and only want to have the power and ground for it and would like to tap in to the power and ground that are up in the mirror. If anyone has done this or has any pointers I would be greatly appreciated.

too bad you are only looking for examples of a 2017 yukon denali.

If only you could look at examples of other GM trucks with similar wiring for help...

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1

there's at least 5 threads right here that talk about powering devices off the truck's wiring.

If you could be so kind as to help me out in locating that information as it would be greatly appreciated. I must be dumb as I do no know what vehicles have the same wiring as my 2017 Yukon Denali so I would be doing random searches not knowing what to even search for. The link that you provided just brings me to the search page which I am familiar with.

This HardWire Kit for your V1, Beltronics, or Escort Radar Detector is 8 feet in length and has an inline fuse so 12 Volt "ignition" power can be safely obtained from the nearest source. No more flat, shiny phone cord. Instead, a tight, protective sheathing with texture that looks factory, just like our MirrorTap Power Cords.

ok, sorry, I thought the link would post the search i did.

I just searched for "radar detector".

lots of people have discussed mounting and wiring options.

the interior of all these trucks has changed very little since 2014. you can look at the various photos and see if it matches your vehicle. I'm guessing the mirror wiring is the same in all of them with onstar.

OP-

I just completed this on my 2017 Yukon....its the connection in the middle with the 10 wire slot...top row...the black wire is negative and the purple wire is hot. You may have to use a pair of needle nose pliers to force the spade tips in but it works.

So I have a little issue maybe some could help me out! I’m a noob here on the forums, i have a 15” Escalade and I’m trying to install my V1 there is no videos out there just pictures of people having them on and just talking about it....here’s my issue that happens to me..

3fe4db4fa1a48d8a161dd3c429fcf4dc.jpg

I install the ground cable to the (black) and the power to the (grey/purple) cable on the very top.

In the connector there in the picture I have (black,green/purple,grey/purple) when I install it, the V1 always stays on??? Which I don’t like...when I install it to the middle color I have no power at all....

Now i move to the middle connectors, which now is a pain to get out cause it’s cold and i don’t want anything to break, but I see a black color cable, which color other color can it be? I used a test light but I can’t get all the way up in there due to the bend of the connector....can anyone help me out here thanks guys! Happy holiday[emoji482][emoji319]?
