98 gmc c2500 5.7 no power

I have a gmc c2500 5.7 it has 60,000 miles on it it was given to me by my grandfather because he wasent using it I have changed the oil and put a drop in air filter but that is all so far, I need to do some maintenance but want the power back it idles great and drives fine it's just dosent have any get it and go any help with what i need to change out

check fuel pressure first if the truck has been sitting alot then check the exhaust for blockage. i might just need some good hard driving to clean it out

If it was me.

A complete tune up, replace all parts. New fuel filter, check EGR valve, check everything. Anything questionable replace it.

Be great if you had some way of telling what the CMP retard was. Slight turn of that distributor and it'll fall on its face when you accelerate.
