UPS sucks...

《Rant On》

Ok, we had a "blizzard", which wasn't anything really...got about 12 inches between late Monday night and Tuesday morning, roads were clear Tuesday afternoon, and the roads were almost bare on Wednesday. Back home, this snow fall wouldn't have even registered on the annoyance meter.

I have SIX packages due between Wednesday and Thursday. I will give you Tuesday for bad roads (which my hometown UPS would have delivered in BTW), and even Wednesday for giggles; but my packages should have all been delivered Thursday. Nope..."weather", the skies are clear and the sun is out. So everything is rescheduled for Friday (today)...mind you the roads have been bare and dry for two days now....at 230 today I get a notification for an "exception" for all the packages and they are delayed until Monday due to "weather". This is stuff for business mind you, not pleasure...I need it to start a project Monday.

I call UPS, I can go pick them up.

Drive 20 minutes to UPS, the packages are on the truck for delivery? With a weather exception? Not here, "I can't help, I just work here". Ok, explain how I was told they could be picked uo, my UPS app shows they will not be delivered, and the UPS hub shows they are out for delivery. "I don't know, you should have called 800 UPS"...so you are as worthless as they are?

Fire them, fire all of them...if I was as incompetent as the driver, the person I spoke to on the phone, and the person at the hub; I would have been fired long ago. I should have been among the first to receive packages as they were days overdue.

This is why I use USPS and FedEx...I wasn't given that choice...did I mention three packages shipped via USPS arrived Wednesday, on time?

I spend a lot of $$$ through Amazon and others, if I can't chose what carrier, then I might as well drop the account.

I thought this only happened in Canada. UPS is the worst of the worst carrier even Purelylater is better. My favourite is FedEx they seem to always be on time and on schedule ACS and Midland are okay for heavy deliveries. UPS once delivered a package to my back door before a snow storm with no notification on the front door knob. I went through the whole process for recovering an undelivered parcel. Seller didn't want to refund, UPS said they delivered Insurance needed 60 days for parcel to show up. Well in the winter I don't clear the back door or deck associated to it because we just don't use it in the winter and that deck is 14' X 22'. Come spring I found my package after the snow melted, the cardboard box was history but the 2 wheel bearings were nicely sealed in a well oiled bags. Needless to say I have spare wheel bearings.

I once heard my doorbell ring and I was right beside the door when it did, I opened the door to see this UPS guy bolting to his truck. Obviously not a people person.

Should have ordered stuff like 3 weeks ago, waiting till the last minute = fail. ha ha.

A week early with two day shipping isn't enough time, first I heard of that...

WalMart here uses Canada Post and I purchased a gift for my daughter's birthday (march 26th ) yesterday and it was delivered today, talk about service. I ordered so early thinking it would take a week and she gets an early birthday gift. That's what you get for judging delivery by UPS standards I guess. My bad.

For you people thinking I'm a cheap dad to order from WalMart, package was a top of the line Tasimo coffee machine and the new Monopoly game. Both were on sale at a tremendous saving. I love my daughter and over spending doesn't change that.

It's the opposite around here, Fedex and USPS are terrible and UPS is 100% reliable. Fedex wouldn't bring me a package a few months ago because the driveway had maybe a half inch of snow on it. They're terrible around here and I avoid using them at all costs.

I just installed the Walmart app, we will see if that's better. I think they allow you to chose the carrier.

Walmart has decent stuff, no different than Amazon. Some of the Amazon stuff comes directly from China...talk about shipping lag!

Signature requirement is usually at vendor request, not UPS.
