Bedslide?

Recommended Posts

I have a slide master on my truck.

I chose one of the all aluminum models. I'll take a few pictures tomorrow. It really makes getting things out of the bed easy.

I was able to do the install solo in a couple of hours.

I had a true Bed Slide (older one), for a project. Never had it in a truck.

It was steel, and heavy...I'd guess with plywood it weighed right around 200#. That was the only thing I didn't like about it, was how heavy it was.

The BedSlide for my truck weighs in around 210 lbs and that includes track and bed.

Here are some pics.

Thank you for the pic's!

What is the tonneau cover setup you have? I'm looking to do something similar with Thule or Yakima racks a retractable cover.

I have a Peragon tonneau cover. It folds like an accordion. See their website.

Some people don't like the Peragon cover as it won't retract if there is something blocking it near the front of the bed. With the Slide Master it isn't an issue as I can slide the (toolbox in my case) out and the cover opens. I had a fabricator make the rack out of 1 X 2 aluminum. There are slots for a stud to mount it and I have two 6 foot L tracks from US Cargo on the bed rails. I can space the rack bars anywhere on the track.

I chose the Peragon as I didn't want any plastic to deteriorate in the AZ sun. The paint will fade but I can touch it up.

I have 1Up bike racks mounted as I do a lot of mountain biking with my buddies and my daughter.

One of my buddies gives me grief that I will buy anything made in Wisconsin as I lived there most of my life (the tonneau cover, slide and rack are all made there).

I did have a Bedslide on my 2013 Cadillac Escalade EXT. It was nice but it was made of steel and had a plywood deck.

Good luck with your choices.

Thanks for the info.

I miss AZ, lived there for a year and then moved back to VT. I still ask myself why, lol.

Thanks for the post. You turned me onto slidemaster. I just received mine yesterday. Love it so far! No crawling into the back anymore. I was going with Bedslide but love the weight of the aluminum slidemaster. It's roughly 100lbs less.

I ended up having a sheet of 1/4" aluminum cut to fit. I will weld angles to the edge and also going lay down a sheet of rubber to keep things from sliding.

Looks Great. I'm sure it's even better when you have a topper instead of a tonneau cover.

There are times I'm tempted to get one instead since you can fit so much more.

Thanks for the compliments! It's really helpful for my needs. Looking to install some fork mounts for my bikes on it as well. It will be real handy to pull the tray out and have the bikes right there.
