MBRP 3 1/2 Cat Back Exhaust

Recommended Posts

It can be done.... drop the spare and be sure to put the stands on the frame and not the axle to ensure the rear suspension unloaded. After that, should slide right out. Took me about 45 minutes from start to finish

I'm thinking about putting the MBRP cat back system on my '17 6.2L and was wondering if anyone has been able to remove the factory exhaust in one piece only using jacks and jack stands?

My MBRP lasted 3 days before I put stock back on. It had a terrible drone from 1800 to 2100 rpms. My advice would be to find someone with that system to see if you like it first. But yes you can remove without cutting. See my write up here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/197517-How-to-Remove-Stock-Exhaust-w/-No-Cutting-and-No-Lift

On a cold start 5 degree morning then head up a slight hill out of my development you would hit certain rpms 1800 to 2200 with engine under load the drone was so loud with MBRP you could not even hear the radio at normal listening volume. This was in V8. Cruising in v8 on Highway was relatively tame but when it kicks into v4 the note was terrible. I was embarrassed the cars next to me would think my exhaust was going to fall off. So if you go MBRP make sure you have v4 turned off and it might not be too bad overall especially if you live someplace warm.

I can tell you after two days of cold starts at 6 am, both my neighbors had stopped buy to voice their "concerns" about how loud it was.

Yes, it's easy. I just put my floor jack under the receiver hitch to raise the back end up some, then you can wiggle it out of there with a little finess. Took me like 30 minutes total to install my MBRP system, did it during a lunch break. Sounds good now that I tuned the AFM out.

Installed mine in less than an hour last week. The AFM is very noticeable but it's not terrible to me. Other than that I love it nice and throaty.

Same with the Corsa Sport.....great sound, but I don't care that they call it "drone free". There is a noticeable moderately loud drone between maybe 1800 and 2200 rpm and the v4 chopper noise is also noticeable at times, but I just drive in m7 most of the time.
